Sun., 15 September -- DAY 7

Wiscasset to Freeport

Started out with a beautiful morning, nice and cool, rolling countryside, low traffic. Had some difficulty at a few intersections that had no road name signs. I would have to get off of the bike or stop and check the Google maps. And, the phone display is hard to read (old eyes, bifocals, UV tint), so I can't see it while I'm moving. (I do not advocate staring at one's phone while riding or driving!)
Still learning what's working and what isn't.

One of the beautiful places along the road today. Cormorants sunning.

In Brunswick, they've invested a lot into path infrastructure. The Androscoggin River Trail takes pedestrian and bike traffic off of the busy highways, but yet keeps it next to the river. Nice trail. This bridge crosses US 1.

The day became quite warm. Hot actually, and with stopping frequently for route verification and still a good bit of climbing, Team Sloth took an hour longer than she should have.

The afternoon was delightful at the Shrum campsite. 30amp connection. Visits from Drew and Elizabeth. Wonderful fellowship with Hannah at the homestead and at Royal River Grillhouse. Nice luxurious shower. Laundry. Who could ask for anything more.

Tomorrow is a rest day. And DL is making' cinnamon rolls! Life is good.
